Boys soccer: Lakes handles Round Lake

Boys soccer

Lakes 4, Round Lake 3: Max Keenan scored twice, and Charlie Gaida had a goal and an assist for the Eagles in the Northern Lake County match.

Dom Kaspar also scored for Lakes (6-3-4, 2-0-2). The Eagles scored the winner in the final 30 seconds when Keenan finished a free kick by Andrew Gaetano.

"This was a big win for us in a game that could have gone either way," Eagles coach Kevin Kullby said. "One of those games when it is truly not over until it's over. Both teams should be applauded for their effort on the field along with the quality goals that were scored by both teams."

Stevenson 2, Lake Zurich 0: Hunter Tam and Jaemin Seo scored the Patriots in the North Suburban contest.

Stevenson (8-2-1, 3-1) got 10 saves from keeper Josh Dicker.

"Once again we played outstanding defense and found a way to score a few goals," Patriots coach Mark Schartner said.
