Gitrls volleyball: St. Viator nets first win in ESCC

On the eve of its 'Volley for a Cure' match against Wheeling, St. Viator's girls volleyball team notched its first win in the East Suburban Catholic Conference on Tuesday night in Arlington Heights.

The Lions rallied for a 25-27, 25-14, 25-14 win over Marian Central Catholic to go to 10-11 overall and 1-3 in the ESCC.

Carrie Leazer led the Lions on attack with 12 kills. Kate Nottoli added 11 and Vicky Gorney had 6 as the hosts took their cues from setter Erin Aldana, who handed out 35 assists.

Leazer also had a team-high 5 aces and 14 digs while Taylor Pfaller led the back row with 17 digs.

Nottoli and Lilly LaFleur each had 2 blocks for St. Viator. Ella Kull, Aldana and Leazer had 1 apiece.

Addison Trail d. Leyden: Addison Trail posted a 25-17, 25-14 win over the Eagles, who were led by senior outside hitter Destiny Corral (10 kills).

Huntley d. Barrington: Visiting Huntley (8-2) posted a nonconference win 25-10, 25-15 over the Fillies (9-8).
