Boys soccer: Elgin, St. Edward, Streamwood net wins

Elgin's boys soccer team stayed perfect in the Upstate Eight with a 4-0 win over East Aurora on Monday.

The Tomcats, now 8-1-1 overall and 4-0 in conference, got goals from Eric Villa, Isaac Espinosa and two more by Omar Lopez. Villa added an assist as did Antonio Sanchez and Cristopher Colin.

St. Edward 6, Christian Liberty 0: Six different players scored in St. Edward's win.

Chase Brieger started the scoring on an assist from Uriel Carachure who then scored the next one from Cameron Kruk.

Josh Johansen got the third goal from Jacob Shepherd, and Yahir Carachure scored the fourth assisted by Tyler Brieger.

Karol Kopciewski and Josh Nordan scored the final two goals assisted by Robert Wilson and Aidan Franklin, respectively.

St. Edward (10-1-1) return to action at home Tuesday against Aurora Christian.

Streamwood 1, Glenbard South 0: Alex Chavez scored the only goal on Bryan Mora's assist. Hector Alfaro made 2 saves in goal for his third shutout. The Sabres are 8-3 overall and 1-0 in the Upstate Eight.
