Baseball: Benet, Addison Trail, Glenbard South win

Benet 5, Joliet Catholic 4:

Andrew Prisby, who went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, gave the Redwings (16-13, 11-7) a walkoff win in the East Suburban Catholic Conference with an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning. Anthony Adams was the winning pitcher in relief.

Addison Trail 11, Proviso East 0:

Nick Daudelin pitched a 5-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 and walking none for the Blazers (16-12, 10-6 West Suburban Gold). Simon Marinelli homered twice and drove in 4 runs.

Glenbard South 5, Aurora Central 3:

The Raiders (17-12, 13-5) swept the Metro Suburban series and won for the seventh straight time. Nick Atkinson went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Logan Barnick won on the mound and Mike Paprota got the save.

Naperville North 2, WW South 1:

The Huskies (17-12, 11-11) won in the DuPage Valley behind complete-game winning pitcher Jack Whitley, who scattered 7 hits. Matt Scherrman allowed only 2 hits in 6 innings for WW South (13-16, 10-12).

Neuqua Valley 3, Glenbard North 1:

Winning pitcher Kyle Pettingill allowed 1 hit over 5 innings for the Wildcats (26-3, 20-3 DuPage Valley). Casey Pickering earned the save in the combined 2-hitter.

Naperville Central 2, Lake Park 0:

Jared Suchevits needed only 71 pitches for a complete-game 3-hitter with 4 strikeouts and no walks for the Redhawks (15-13, 12-10 DuPage Valley). Braden Lindmark went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Wheaton North 4, Waubonsie Valley 3:

The Falcons (19-11, 15-7) scored all their runs in the top of the second inning to win in the DuPage Valley. Tyler Woltman went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Joe Klein and Rocco Gambaiani each went 2-for-3. Andy Nelson and Ryan Russman combined on the mound.

Hinsdale Central 5, York 4:

The Red Devils (12-13, 6-10 West Suburban Silver) broke out to a 5-0 lead and held on as York (19-8, 9-6) scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh inning. Winning pitcher Peter Mercurio, Danny Schaub and Kyle Wisch, who got the save, combined on a 3-hitter. Charlie Huth went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Metea Valley 2, Harlem 0:

Jack Cagigal fired a 4-hitter with 7 strikeouts and no walks for the Mustangs (17-13). Andrew Cronin went 2-for-3.

Wheaton Academy 8, Crossroads Christian 5:

A 7-run bottom of the first inning powered the Warriors (11-14) to victory. Mike Cortez and J.D. Rienow drove in 2 runs apiece in support of winning pitcher Payton Sowa.

Downers South 4, Morton 3:

Trailing 2-1, Downers South (19-8, 13-4 West Suburban Gold) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth. Four pitchers combined on the mound. Gino Cozzi won in relief and Jake Wissler notched the save.

Hinsdale South 7, Leyden 1:

Winning pitcher Frankie Klemm struck out 12 in 6 innings for the Hornets (17-11, 13-4) in their West Suburban Gold victory.
