Boys volleyball: Libertyville quickly back on track
Libertyville's boys volleyball team rebounded from a less than satisfying performance in its own weekend tournament with a 25-16, 25-22 victory over Glenbard North in nonconference play Monday.
Leading the attack for the Wildcats (22-4) were Jack Stevens (9 kills, 2 blocks, 3 digs), Colin Hawkinson (8 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs) and Brendan Cook (8 kills, 2 blocks, 4 aces).
Carter Schaffnit had 23 setting assists and Ryan Winiger had a team-best 6 digs.
"After a disappointing weekend, our guys were able to bounce back and refocus on the things we need to do in a match," said Libertyville coach Jennifer Smith. "Blocking was on point, and we were back to our consistent and aggressive serving."
Mundelein d. Grayslake Central: Coach George Dressen's Mustangs improved to 14-11 with a 27-25, 25-16 victory in nonconference play.
