Softball: Crocilla, Streamwood down Batavia

Taylyr Crocilla fired a 3-hitter with 8 strikeouts and 3 walks Tuesday to lead Streamwood to a 4-3 Upstate Eight River softball win over Batavia.

Tess Freedman had 2 hits wit a double for the Sabres (4-3) and Becky Roncone added a double.

Allison Bahlmann homered for Batavia and Hanna Mackowiak had a double.

Geneva 15, Larkin 3: Ali Dierks hit 2 home runs as Geneva (8-2, 4-1) won this UEC River game. Katie Geary had 2 doubles for the Vikings while Alyssa Kramer and Emily Viebrock had a double each. Katy Shawke was the winning pitcher. Haley Bohne had a home run for Larkin (1-7, 1-3).

St. Charles East 16, Elgin 0: Madelyn Rouse tossed a 3-hitter with 11 strikeouts and 4 walks to lead the Saints (10-2) to a UEC River win. Leading the SCE offense were Maddie Candre (2 hits, 3 RBI), Alex Wooten (2 RBI), Paige Ligocki (2 RBI), Krista Sbarra (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Sara Campagna (2 hits), Kati Gheorghe (2 hits, RBI) and Brooke Byas (2B).

Cary-Grove 12, Buffalo Grove 1: In nonconference action, winning pitcher Katy Wierczorek (5 hits, 4 Ks, 1 BB) had a double and 2 RBI as the Trojans (7-1) scored 10 runs in the second inning to seal this win. Alina Krembuszewski (2 RBI), Emma Hill (2B, 2 RBI), Anna Whitaker (2 hits, RBI), Frankie Cruz (2B, RBI) and Lindsey Norberg (3B) also contributed to the Cary-Grove offense.

Nazareth 6, Westminster Christian 0: Rachel Schmitt had 2 hits for Westminster (1-2) in a nonconference loss.
