Softball: Batavia splits with WW South
Noelle Chaney allowed 6 hits and had 8 strikeouts and added 2 hits with a double and 3 RBI as Batavia's softball team defeated Wheaton Warrenville South 6-4 in Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday.
Jaelen Lisberg (2 hits, 3B, RBI), Kaylan Waldron (2 hits, RBI) and Cassidy Carby (2B, RBI) also added to the Batavia offense.
The Bulldogs lost Game 2 by a 6-5 score. Lisberg and Waldron (RBI) had 2 hits each and Carby added a triple, home run and 3 RBI.
Burlington Central 5, Rosary 2: Sophomore Alisyn Catenacci struck out 7 and walked 1 as the Rockets (3-2) won this nonconference game. Abby Sanders (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Lindsay Jamrozek (2 RBI) led BC's offense. Mikayla Cassidy (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Riley McCue (2B) paced Rosary.
Geneva 4, Oswego 1: Winning pitcher Ali Dierks was 4-for-4 with a home run and Alyssa Kraemer added a homer for Geneva (4-0).
