Softball: Huntley sweeps Batavia

The Huntley softball team swept a 2-game set against Batavia on Saturday, beating the Bulldogs 10-0 in 5 innings in Game 1 and 12-5 in Game 2.

The Red Raiders (3-0) used a 6-run fourth to start off the day as Teagan O'Rilley went 3-for-3 with a homer, double, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Autumn Kasal (2-for-3, SB) also had a double and 1 RBI.

Tiffany Giese, who went to 2-0 in the circle, pitched a 2-hitter on 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. She also went 2-for-4 from the plate with 4 RBI. Batavia received 2 hits from Jaelen Lisberg.

Game 2 featured more runs from Huntley, who used 4-run first and a pair of 3-run frames in the second and fourth to get the job done. Marley Reicher went 3-for-4 with a triple, 3 runs and 1 RBI while Kasal (2-for-3, RBI), Briana Bower (2-for-4, 2B, R, 2 RBI), Jacquelyn Dorin (2B) and Taylor Zielinski all had 2 hits, each. Hali Marte (1-0), who pitched 4 innings to get the win, gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits with no walks and 6 strikeouts. The Bulldogs (0-2), who were outhit 26-8 overall, did get a home run and total of 2 hits from Chloe Chvojcsek in the second game, a homer from Allison Bahlmann and a double by Cassidy Carby.
