Harper back in title match

Defending NJCAA women's volleyball national champion Harper College made it back to the title match on Friday with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-22 victory over Queensborough College in the quarterfinals and a 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23 triumph over Columbus State in the semifinal.

The Hawks (37-5) will go for a second straight crown at 4 p.m. on Saturday against Eastfield College (Texas) in Rochester, Minn.

Ellie Burzlaff (25-of-25,14 kills) and Sarah Udoni (15-of-21, 12 kills) led the Hawks attack against Queensborough while setter Emily Huprich handed out 35 assists and served 4 aces.

Karolina Sas (11 digs) and Ariana Chelini (10 digs) led the Hawks defense.

In the semifinals, Burzlaff (60-of-70) connected for 25 kills followed by Udoni (23-of-30, 9 kills) and Marielle Lugo (26-of-32, 6 kills).

Chelini had 26 digs, followed by Huprich (17), Sas (13), Breanna Cullen (14) and Burzlaff (11)

Huprich recorded 37 assists and Chelini served 2 aces.
