Meet the new Chicago Blackhawks: Forsberg and Oesterle

Our series on the eight new Blackhawks concludes today with goalie Anton Forsberg and defenseman Jordan Oesterle.

Forsberg, who came to the Hawks in the Brandon Saad-Artemi Panarin trade last June, has looked good in most appearances but he struggled in his last outing at Colorado. Oesterle signed a two-year deal when free agency opened. The Dearborn Heights, Michigan, native attended Western Michigan from 2011-14. He has been a healthy scratch in 10 of the Hawks' 13 games but can add an element of offense when on the ice.

How you became a goalie: "I don't really know. I think it was more the gear - I thought it was cool. Once I started watching hockey, I was always watching the goalies for some reason."

Favorite hockey memories: The World Junior and Calder Cup championships, and his first NHL game.

Favorite food: Steak

Favorite movie: One of the later Batman movies

Teams you grew up rooting for: Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings

Favorite player growing up: "I liked Peter Forsberg a lot; I don't know if it's just because he has the same last name."

Most mischievous thing you did as a kid: Just like Connor Murphy, Forsberg said ding-dong ditch. "I think every kid would do that when you're younger. Ringing doorbells and running around, and go back again. It would drive somebody crazy. I didn't do a lot (wrong) when I was young. I was kind of a laid-back guy."

Who inspired you: His older cousins

Favorite hockey memory: First game in the NHL. What does he remember? "Just the adrenaline I had. The pure joy and excitement to fulfill your childhood dream."

Favorite food: Anything Mexican

Favorite music: Country and hip-hop

Favorite TV show: Californication

Team you grew up rooting for: Detroit Red Wings

Favorite player growing up: Nicklas Lindstrom. "Growing up in Michigan I got to watch him every single night. He was just always on the ice, always doing the right thing. He was just a great professional."

Most mischievous thing you did as a kid: "When I was 12 or 13, I had paintball guns. Me and my buddies ran around to all of our buddies' houses shooting their houses and their parents' cars. We got caught and had to go clean everything the next day. All of our friends knew it was us. One of my good buddies is my neighbor and his parents knew that I had paintball guns and what color our paint was."
