Girls volleyball: Harvest Christian, Aurora Christian reach 2A sectional finals

Harvest Christian and Aurora Christian each reached Class 2A girls volleyball sectional finals with their semifinal wins on Monday night.

At the Chicago Christ the King sectional, Harvest Christian defeated DePaul Prep 25-14, 25-9. The Lions will take on Walther Christian Wednesday night for the right to advance to the Harvest Christian supersectional on Friday.

Amanda Cassidy (9 kills, 2 aces, 4 digs), Jimena Montano (5 kills), Madison Pfister (7 kills, 2 blocks) and Kaitlyn Murray (24 assists, 4 aces, 6 digs) led the Lions (27-11).

And, at the Chicago Christian sectional, Aurora Christian will meet the host school for the title on Wednesday after downing Chicago Harlan 25-9, 25-11 in Monday's semifinals. Wednesday's winner advances to the Seneca supersectional Friday night.
