Boys soccer: Kaneland wins conference crown

The Kaneland boys soccer team grabbed its first ever NI Big XI East title with a 3-1 win over DeKalb Thursday. The Knights finished with a 5-1-2 record in conference and Allen Dominguez, Tucker Jahns and Zach Smith were huge reasons why against Barbs. All scored goals while Brian Bartholomew dished 2 assists. Dylan Bock also added a goal for Kaneland (13-3-3).

Streamwood 1, Wauconda 0: Aldo Lazaro provided the only Sabres goal on a Jesus Limon assist in a nonconference win. Keeper Daniel Dominguez provided his seventh shutout of the season for Streamwood (11-5-2).

St. Charles East 4, West Chicago 0: Truitt Battin had 2 goals for the Saints (7-9-4) in an Upstate Eight crossover win. Luke Schnitker and Nick Nelson also added goals. Colin Coine and Rajin Bains provided assists while Zach Kennedy (2 saves) and Zach Doerr (1 save) split time in net for the shutout.
