Boys water polo: Casey, Quinn help Hersey past Conant
Jack Casey had a game-best 5 goals and R.J. Quinn had 3 as host Hersey had a big second half to earn an 11-6 victory over Conant in the Mid-Suburban League's second-place divisional matchup in boys water polo Monday.
The Huskies trailed 5-4 at the half before outscoring Conant 3-0 in the third quarter and 4-1 in the fourth.
Alex Hirjoi and Taaha Adaamji both scored twice for the Cougars (16-9).
Casey had all three of the goals for Hersey (17-11) in the third quarter.
Barrington hosts Buffalo Grove in the Mid-Suburban League championship matchup at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Prospect 12, Fremd 6: The Knights (12-14) added to a string of impressive late-season results by winning the MSL's third-place divisional matchup.
Dan Macina paced Prospect with 4 goals, while Kenny Barry and Tarun Pothanker had 2 each for Fremd (12-12).
Schaumburg 8, Elk Grove 4: The host Grenadiers (9-15) had the lead at the half before the Saxons (10-13) rallied for the win in the fourth-place crossover.
Palatine 10, Rolling Meadows 7: Senior T.J. May (5 goals) and junior Glenn Ingebritson (3) helped the visiting Pirates win an MSL crossover matchup.
Dylan White and Sam Spaletto both had 1 goal and freshman goalie Nathan Allen stopped 6 shots for Palatine (5-24).
Johnny Carroll paced Rolling Meadows (2-15) with 3 goals and Filip Pancerz had 2.
Hoffman Estates 8, Wheeling 5: Chris Serrano came up with 4 goals, Greg Baranov had 3 and Andy Walsh had 1 to help the host Hawks (3-25) win their MSL crossover matchup against the Wildcats (2-20).
