Regular-season games, out of 122 played, in which Tampa Bay rookie slugger Evan Longoria recorded no outs while getting at least 3 hits. He went 3-for-3, with two home runs, a single and a walk in Game 1 of the ALDS.



Consecutive games in which Chicago White Sox pitcher Javier Vazquez has given up more earned runs than innings pitched. Since pitching 7 shutout innings on Sept. 14 against the Detroit TIgers, he has struggled with a 13.02 ERA (24 earned runs in 16 innings).


Consecutive games in which Tampa Bay Rays pitcher James Shields has given up fewer earned runs than innings pitched, dating back to a 1-inning, 4-run outing on June 5 against the Boston Red Sox.


Consecutive playoff at bats for White Sox outfielder Ken Griffey without getting a hit, since a single in Game 3 of the Seattle Mariners' ALDS in 1997 against the Baltimore Orioles. After going 16-for-44, with 6 homers, in the 1995 post-season, Griffey has gone 2-for-19 in playoff action.


Walks that free-swinging White Sox second baseman Alexei Ramirez has drawn since Sept. 1, including four in the last four games of the regular season and one in Game 1 of the ALDS. He had 10 walks entering September.

Pitches that White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko faced leading off the 9th inning. After fouling off five pitches, he homered down the left-field line on the 11th pitch.
