'Waterpark Capital of the World' offers convention facilities as well

An interview with Kyra Popp sales manager with the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Q: Tell us about the Wisconsin Dells.

A: Wisconsin Dells, "The Waterpark Capital of the World," is one of the Midwest's premier family vacation destinations. Wisconsin Dells offers 19.5 square miles of scenic boat tours, challenging golf courses, world-class spa services, restaurants, shopping, attractions, a vibrant downtown and, of course, incredible water parks. All of this is set against a backdrop of breathtaking rock formations and sandstone cliffs along the banks of the Wisconsin River. After creating the best indoor and outdoor water parks in the world, our ever-competitive entrepreneurial community continued the momentum by developing some of the most exceptional convention facilities in the Midwest. The combination of family fun and top-notch meeting facilities created a unique destination for meetings and conventions.

Q: People may not think of the area as a venue for corporate events. What do you have to offer?

A: Business conferences are a perfect complement to our busy leisure destination.

When family vacations are over and the kids go back to school, our convention centers are all business. Corporate planners love our destination because it is a location that attendees are drawn to.

Q: How else do you cater to the corporate client?

A: In Wisconsin Dells, corporate attendees will find everything they would expect in a corporate hotel, and so much more. While our destination is all about fun, service and quality are paramount. Planners love to take advantage of our complimentary convention services. One of the most popular offerings is registration assistance, where attendees receive a warm welcome from our staff in addition to suggestions on what to do in any free time while they are here. I like to think that conference attendees have a 'choose your own adventure' conference experience in Wisconsin Dells.

Q: Describe the atmosphere.

A: Our high energy destination seamlessly sets the tone for a successful event. The creative fun you can have in Wisconsin Dells naturally fosters innovative and imaginative thinking, which easily spills into the meeting room.

Q: What's trending?

A: Business travelers are acting more and more like leisure travelers. They are looking to experience something authentic and local when they travel.
