Before coming to the Daily Herald, Sarkauskas worked for several years for the Suburban LIFE Graphic newspaper as a reporter. Sarkauskas grew up in Woodridge, and now calls Batavia home. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. In her spare time, Sarkauskas has served on the governing council for her church, and was co-director for 10 years of its vacation Bible school. For several years, she was an advisory member of the board of a parochial school.
