Striking sanitation workers in Paris are set to return to work Wednesday -- potentially ending one of the most enduring symbols of resistance to French President Emmanuel Marcon's controversial pension bill, as nationwide protests also appeared to be winding down.

Philippine police seize large stash of drugs in tea bags

Philippine police seized more than 500 kilograms (more than half a ton) of suspected methamphetamine concealed in tea bags Wednesday and arrested a suspected Chinese drug dealer in a northern mountain resort city, police officials said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday rebuffed President Joe Biden's suggestion that the premier "walks away" from a contentious plan to overhaul the legal system, saying the country makes its own decisions.

Israel's political factions opposed to embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu began setting up negotiating teams Tuesday after he paused a controversial judicial overhaul plan that had triggered unprecedented street protests and a spiraling domestic crisis.

"I had to identify family, that's what it felt like," said Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Eason. "We're a close-knit community; we're small. And when something like this happens, we tend to come together even closer. We didn't just lose 13 people, we lost 13 family members."
