Aurora teen accidentally shot self to death

A 14-year-old boy who died the evening of Dec. 13 near Aurora had accidentally shot himself, the Kane County sheriff's office said Thursday.

A spokesman confirmed the boy was Ignacio Rosario. The name was given on a Gofundme.com account started by a relative, to raise money for Rosario's mother and siblings.

Ignacio, who lived in the 1500 block of Exposition Avenue, brought a gun to a residence in the 1400 block of Exposition Avenue. He pointed it in the direction of his head and accidentally discharged it, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office is still investigating the death, including determining where Ignacio obtained the gun.
