Drive-through recycling event Saturday in Lake Zurich

Illinois Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie of Hawthorn Woods and state Rep. Chris Bos of Lake Zurich are hosting a drive-through recycling and shredding event from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Zurich.

Participating organizations include Paper Tiger, Working Bikes, Habitat for Humanity, Lake Zurich Lions Club and American Legion Post 964.

The event is for residential recycling only (no businesses). Accepted electronics include gaming devices, tablets, mobile phones and more. Electronics that will not be accepted include CRTs, TVs, monitors, hard drives, microwaves, vacuums, fans and stereo speakers. Other accepted items include select unused building materials, gently used home décor and furniture, as well as items such as flags, holiday light strands and more.

Document shredding is limited to two-grocery size bags per vehicle.

Enter on South Buesching Road and follow traffic instructions. Stay in your car and staff will take your items. Exit onto Main Street.
