Aurora Fire Dept. to hold live-fire training Thursday

The Aurora Fire Department will hold live-fire training Thursday at 2044 Selmarten Road.

The training will take place at a home slated for demolition and donated by its owner, providing an invaluable training opportunity, fire officials said.

A series of live-fire evolutions will be held throughout the day focusing on search and rescue, forcible entry, ventilation, hose line advancement, tactics and strategy, engine pumping and Rapid Intervention Team, which involves rescuing a downed firefighter.

Anyone interested in donating a structure for training can contact Battalion Chief Jim Rhodes at jrhodes@aurora.il.us.
