Mount Prospect public works open house set for May 14

The Mount Prospect Public Works Department will host its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at its facility, 1700 West Central Road.

Public works is responsible for village services including the water and sewer system, solid waste, snow plowing, tree maintenance, streets and sidewalks.

The open house will feature prizes, a tour of the public works facility, rides in the department's aerial trucks and backhoes, a children's Fun Fact Hunt, and a wide range of displays demonstrating how the village's water system, sewer system, parkway trees, buildings, streets, and vehicles are maintained.

Kids can meet PW Paws, the Mount Prospect Public Works Department mascot. Refreshments will be provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club.
