Register now for summer Kids and College program at MCC

Keep your kids entertained and learning this summer with the Kids and College program at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake.

The program offers a variety of quality, affordable classes for students entering first through ninth grades. Campers will have the chance to engage and explore with innovative learning skills that will expand their knowledge in many areas. All Summer 2022 classes will be held in person at the college.

New classes start each week from June 13-July 25. Most classes are available in one-week sessions, Mondays through Thursdays, or three-day sessions, Tuesdays through Thursdays. Participants can choose from morning classes (9 a.m.-noon), afternoon classes (1-4 p.m.), or both. If both are chosen, a supervised lunch period is provided from noon-1 p.m.

Summer 2022 courses are available in astronomy, writing, street painting, movie making, crime scene investigation, rocket science and aviation, game design, welding, and more.

"We are excited to welcome Kids and College back in-person for the first time since 2019," said Tressman Goode, coordinator of personal development programs at MCC. "We are offering a variety of classes that will help campers learn new skills for possible future career opportunities. Our camp instructors and counselors are looking forward to interacting in person with the campers and watching them excel in their classes. And MCC's mascot, Roary, is excited to greet them, too!"

Students will be placed in their appropriate grade level groups of 20 to 25 campers to ensure they receive personal attention from teachers. Courses are taught by exceptional teachers, MCC faculty, and camp counselors who will engage campers with their passion and enthusiasm.
