West Chicago police arrest two charged with firing weapons from apartment balcony

Two men face weapons charges after shooting firearms while standing on the second-floor balcony of a West Chicago apartment building, police said.

Tory Boynton, 27, of Elgin, and Lewis McCracken, 26, of West Chicago, are charged with felon in possession of or use of a weapon or firearm, according to West Chicago police. Both appeared Friday in DuPage County bond court, where bail was set at $75,000 for Boynton and $50,000 for McCracken.

West Chicago police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Carriage Drive at about 8:50 p.m. Thursday and determined that the suspects were shooting firearms.

Officers from Winfield, Warrenville and Glendale Heights police departments also responded.

A search warrant executed at the apartment building uncovered two firearms.

No injuries were reported.
