Interviews with Glenbrook South principal candidates to start in February

The search continues for a new principal at Glenbrook South, and the plan is to have a final candidate by March, District 225 Superintendent Charles Johns said.

Johns told the Herald a first round of interviews, with up to eight candidates, begins in early February.

"The search is going well," Johns said.

Participants during the interviews will include support staff members, instructional supervisors, administrative council members, parents, students, and members of the teachers union.

A second round of interviews, which will screen up to three candidates, is scheduled for the end of February.

Participants in those interviews will include teachers union members, Glenbrook South administrators, support staff, students, community members and a school board member.

Johns said he anticipates bringing the final candidate to the board in March.

The search was precipitated this past July by the resignation of former Principal Lauren Fagel.

Dr. Rosanne Williamson, the district's assistant superintendent for Educational Services, has since served as the school's interim principal.
