Circuit court clerk's office upgrading website security after breach

The Cook County circuit court clerk's office website is undergoing security updates after a breach Aug. 13 that directed users to an NFL-related website, the office said Thursday.

The clerk's office confirmed no personal information, data or court records were accessed by the breach. The unauthorized activity was immediately shut down, and the office is investigating its origins. There was no ransomware request, a news release said.

The clerk's office expects its upgraded website to be launched in the next few weeks.
