Bartlett police hosting touch-a-truck, car seat check Saturday

Bartlett police will host the annual National Night Out Touch-A-Truck & K.I.S.S. event from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at The Streets of Bartlett shopping center, 134 Bartlett Plaza.

Kids can have fun exploring and getting hands-on with more than 20 specialty vehicles, including a police SWAT truck, a fire engine, a snowplow, an excavator and an Illinois National Guard vehicle.

Certified car seat technicians will be present to answer questions and install infant car seats, convertible car seats and booster seats. No appointment necessary.

The Illinois tollway and Illinois State Police also will be on-site creating Kids' Identification cards. Trained professionals will take photographs and fingerprints of children age 3 and older and gather vital information to include on an ID card that parents and caregivers can reference in an emergency.

For more information about the free event, contact the Bartlett Police Department at (630) 847-0846.
