Police: Ingleside man pulled out a gun during road rage altercation

A 21-year-old from Ingleside faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police said he pulled out a gun during an argument with another driver in Volo.

Andrew Schuch will be before a judge to enter a plea on Aug. 5.

Sheriff's Lt. Christopher Covelli said police were dispatched about 7 p.m. April 16 to Route 12 and Hartigan Road in Volo for a report of a person with a gun.

Police spoke to a 57-year-old Ingleside man who told them he got into an argument with someone on the roadway. The man said he and Schuch got out of their cars, and Schuch started yelling, pulled out a gun and pointed it at him, according to Covelli. The man said he pleaded with Schuch not to shoot, got back in his car, drove away and then called 911, Covelli said.

Covelli said an independent witness corroborated the man's account.
