Huntley police say they found suspect after 4-hour search

A man was arrested in Huntley after a four-hour police search late Saturday, authorities said.

While Huntley officers were on their way to assist a motorist at Route 47 and Del Webb Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, it was reported that the driver had left his vehicle in the roadway and was firing a gun, according to a police news release.

After other officers responded, police took several reports of a man with the same description attempting to enter a home on the 12100 block of White Tail Lane. Police began searching the area with dogs, drones and night vision until they located the suspect at 12:50 a.m. Sunday on the 13100 block of Crestview Drive.

No charges have been filed in the case, though it's still under investigation.

Huntley police ask that anyone who has information or had an encounter with the man - who is described as white with a beard, wearing camouflage shorts, a gray tank top and a blue backpack - to call them at (847) 515-5311.
