What traditional events were adapted for the pandemic and how?

Our Fine Arts performances were held outside including choir and band concerts and theater productions. In the colder months, our performing arts events were recorded and premiered on YouTube. A senior-only pep rally was held to celebrate our athletes. Our athletic department worked hard to keep our athletes active all year long and found ways to have some fans at games. Retreats and service opportunities were still provided in person through the creativity of our Campus Ministry staff. All of our Senior Events including Baccalaureate Mass, a Gala, and Graduation will be held in person outside.

What were the most significant challenges faced by the Class of 2021 and how did they overcome them?

The most significant challenge faced by the Class of 2021 was the constant uncertainty of what each day would bring. It felt like each day there were changes to health and safety expectations that constantly altered plans. The Class of 2021 learned to live in an uncertain world by taking hold of what they knew wouldn't change, accepting disappointment, learning to roll with changes, and be grateful for what they were able to do.

Principal's reflections on the Class of 2021:

The Class of 2021 at St. Viator are a group of resilient and creative young women and men who faced many challenges during their years of high school and responded with optimism for a bright future and with selfless acts of service.
