Kane County seeks to charge teen as adult in Aurora carjacking

A Kane County prosecutor asked Tuesday that a 16-year-old boy, accused of shooting and carjacking a woman in January in Aurora, be charged as an adult.

The prosecutor also said an additional charge has been filed in the case but did not say what it was. The boy is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed violence, possession of two stolen motor vehicles, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Charging documents for an adult co-defendant say that the juvenile, who was then 15, shot the carjacking victim.
