Schaumburg library offers week of programs for young children

The Schaumburg Township District Library will host a variety of online programs Monday through Thursday to celebrate the "Week of the Young Child."

Most programs are geared toward 3- to 5-year-olds, however the first program also welcomes 2-year-olds.

Caregivers must be present with participants. Register at SchaumburgLibrary.org to get the Zoom link and program kit. Each kit contains materials for a craft or to engage with program activities.

The week begins with "Music Monday," from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday. Children ages 2 to 5 years will make their own tambourines, learn about music, dance and play.

"Tasty Tuesday" takes place from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, and gives children ages 3 to 5 the opportunity to make and explore foods from around the world.

On "Work Together Wednesday," children ages 3 to 5 will engage in popsicle STEAM activities from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The celebration concludes with "Artsy Thursday" from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday. Children ages 3 to 5 years will hear a story and create a work of art that celebrates Earth Day.
