A fire that started in landscape mulch Tuesday night resulted in $150,000 damage to a fast-food restaurant in Lake Zurich, authorities said.

Lake Zurich firefighters responding to an 10:04 p.m. alarm at Burger King, 642 Rand Road, arrived to find moderate smoke coming from the eaves of the building. After all occupants were accounted for the fire was located in an exterior wall, officials said.

Flames traveled to a void space above the building's main entrance and up the wall to the roof, firefighters said. The fire was extinguished using two hose lines and two ladder trucks, according to the fire department.
