No injuries reported after freight train cars separate while passing through Barrington

No injuries were reported Sunday afternoon when the coupling between railcars broke while a freight train was traveling through Barrington, fire officials said.

The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on a Canadian National Railway train traveling near Lageschulte Street and West County Line Road, causing the cars to separate, according to fire officials.

After an inspection for hazardous conditions, the train cars were reconnected and the rail traffic was allowed to resume nearly 90 minutes after the coupling failure.
