Bartlett will continue to allow more outdoor dining

Bartlett bars and restaurants will be allowed outdoor dining for a second spring and summer season through Nov. 1.

The Bartlett village board Tuesday voted to temporarily modify village regulations once again to immediately allow restaurants and bars to reopen with outdoor dining, regardless of whether they hold an outdoor dining permit.

After initially loosening the outdoor dining permissions last year to support restaurants during the pandemic, the village continued to receive positive feedback from restaurant owners and patrons.

Restaurants that currently have indoor dining can work with village staff to provide an outdoor dining area that will be safe. If a restaurant has a special-use permit for outdoor dining, it would be allowed to expand the dining area provided social distancing requirements are satisfied.

Temporary liquor licenses for restaurants with on-premise liquor and outdoor dining would also be granted through Nov. 1.
