North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic brings on new attorney

The North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic is pleased to announce the hiring of staff attorney Charlotte Coats, who will be assisting the clinic's domestic violence practice.

Before joining the clinic, Charlotte was a domestic violence team legal intern at the Legal Aid Society in Chicago. Her experience as an intern there, as well as at Legal Aid Chicago, Citizen Advocacy Center, and Prairie State Legal Services, provided her with a broad range of experience and background in public interest law. While she was a JD candidate, Charlotte gained a 711 license to render legal services in the State of Illinois and represented survivors of domestic violence in family law issues.

As a law student, she was an active member of the DePaul Center for Public Interest Law and served in several leadership positions.

Charlotte received her law degree from DePaul University and her bachelor's degree in English literature from Illinois Wesleyan University.
