Coroner identifies Lombard woman killed in I-88 crash

The DuPage County coroner's office has identified the Lombard woman who was killed Tuesday in a crash on Interstate 88 in Lisle.

Ashley Skrobot, 30, was driving a 2009 Honda Accord that was struck by a semitrailer truck on I-88 near the Route 53 exit. She later died at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

A 9-year-old child who was a passenger in the car was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, authorities said Tuesday. But hospital officials on Wednesday declined to share the status of the child.

On Tuesday, Illinois State Police said the crash happened around 10:59 a.m. while Skrobot was driving in the far left lane of westbound I-88. Skrobot lost control of the car, which then hit the concrete median, went back into traffic and was struck by the truck.

The 60-year-old driver of the semitrailer truck was not injured.
