North Aurora gets visit from mobile food bank

The Northern Illinois Food Bank and Wheaton Christian Center Church-Aurora Campus distributed food Saturday morning in North Aurora.

The mobile food bank Saturday set up on Route 31 across the street from the police station.

"Numbers have increased in terms of distribution over the past year with the COVID pandemic," said Jenny Ackerman, Northern Illinois Food Bank development officer. "We're happy to be able to serve neighbors."

The food was free to those in need with no ID, proof of address or proof of income required. Food was distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies lasted.
