Commission suspends license of Glenview attorney accused of sex assaults

The license of Glenview attorney facing sexual misconduct charges against multiple women was suspended, according to the state Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.

David Peter Pasulka, 61, faces a five-count disciplinary complaint alleging that he engaged in criminal conduct involving assault, battery, unlawful restraint, criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse related to four separate women, the commission reports.

Earlier this week, a Cook County judge ordered Pasulka held on a $100,000 bail on charges of sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault and sexual abuse, according to a representative of State's Attorney Kim Foxx.

One of the accusers was a client and the other was an employee at his law office, prosecutors said. The client told authorities Pasulka inappropriately touched her during a 2017 meeting, then told her she would lose custody of her children if she didn't have sex with him.

Pasulka is also charged with sexually assaulting a paralegal in his office in 2017 and 2018. According to prosecutors, Pasulka has other sexual assault, sexual abuse and intimidation charges pending from 2020 as well as a DUI pending in Skokie's Second District.

Pasulka was admitted to the bar in 1984. At the time of the alleged criminal acts, he specialized in family law. He is currently in-house counsel for a large banking corporation, prosecutors said. He did not return a call to his office.

According to the disciplinary commission complaint filed last summer, Pasulka engaged in behavior that "reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer." The complaint alleged that Pasulka sexually abused three woman and committed battery against a fourth woman. At that time, Cook County prosecutors had not yet charged Pasulka.

According to an commission spokesman, it is not necessary for prosecutors to charge a lawyer for the disciplinary commission to initiate an inquiry.

The commission's purpose is to investigate allegations of illegal, unethical or dishonest conduct and if warranted, bring disciplinary charges against the attorney. The Illinois Supreme Court makes final decisions on censures, license revocations and disbarments.
