West Chicago search dog to get protective vest
Search dog Thor, a member of the K9/Drone Search and Rescue Strike Team, is receiving a bullet- and stab-resistant protective vest from the charity Vested Interest in K9s Inc.
Thor works with West Chicago firefighter Todd Baseggio on searches for people throughout the suburbs, state and nation.
The vest is custom-fitted and certified by the National Institute of Justice. The vests typically cost $1,744 to $2,283.
