Libertyville standoff ends peacefully

Libertyville police took a man into custody Saturday morning after a three-hour standoff stemming from a domestic disturbance at a house on the 100 block of West Lincoln Avenue.

Police say a relative told them the man had threatened the relative with a knife. The relative was able to leave and call police.

The man was then alone in the house. The Northern Illinois Police Alarm System's Emergency Services Team eventually persuaded the man to communicate with them, and he was arrested without incident, according to police.

Nobody, including the man, was injured.

He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

The incident is under investigation.
