Streamwood house fire causes $100,000 in damage

No injuries were reported in a late Wednesday night house fire in Streamwood.

Streamwood firefighters were called to the two-story, single-family house on the 100 block of Fairview Lane at 11:03 p.m., officials said.

Residents of the home were able to escape before firefighters arrived and did not suffer any injuries.

Firefighters reported heavy fire showing from the rear of the house upon arrival and immediately began attempting to extinguish the blaze that appears to have started inside the house and extended into the attic, according to fire officials.

Firefighters also were able to rescue a dog from inside the home.

The cause of the fire, reportedly caused $100,000 in damage, remains under investigation, fire officials said.
