Cook County traffic court held remotely as COVID-19 precaution

Cook County traffic court will be held remotely until further notice to protect residents and courthouse personnel during the coronavirus pandemic.

Individuals with traffic tickets and misdemeanor matters should not attend court in person, according to a spokeswoman for Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans. Those matters will be addressed via videoconference and parties will be notified by mail of their next court date, the spokeswoman said.

For information, call (312) 603-5030 or visit the circuit court clerk's website at cookcountyclerkofcourt.org.

Temperature checks, masks and physical distancing are required in courtrooms and throughout courthouses to protect public health, Evans said in a prepared statement.
