Northbrook library's Winter Reading returns with Blizzard Bingo

Northbrook Public Library's Winter Reading returns Tuesday, Dec. 1, featuring Blizzard Bingo, a new way for people of all ages to engage with their annual reading program.

Blizzard Bingo encourages participants to complete a wide range of fun challenges. For example, adult participants can complete a bingo square by using Mango Languages to practice a new language. Kids can complete a square by drawing a new cover for a book, and teens can complete a square by writing a short story. Just like regular bingo, a player can win a game by completing a row of squares.

Participants who prefer the library's more traditional Winter Reading format also have the choice to read for an hour to complete any of the squares.

Blizzard Bingo cards are available to print from home at www.northbrook.info/winter-reading.

Since the building is currently closed to the public, the library has made sure that Blizzard Bingo can be easily played from home. Reading and activities can be logged online or using the READsquared app. For those who prefer to track their progress on the paper bingo card, there is also an option to sign up and track programs via phone.

The library will add prizes to each participant's prize box for completed games of bingo. This year's prizes include a Book Bin gift card for adults and a free book for kids, as well as a chance to win a gift card from a local restaurant.
