No snow is no problem as Long Grove sleigh ride season begins
There's no snow to dash through just yet, but it's still fun to ride in an open sleigh this time of year.
That's certainly the case in Long Grove, where the Historic Downtown Long Grove organization's holiday sleigh rides through town already are sold out for the season.
The annual tradition has undergone some changes this year because if the COVID-19 pandemic, including the requirement for online reservations, plenty of social distancing and a mask requirement.
Among those taking a spin Sunday were Rachel Perillo of Streamwood and her sons Liam, 6, and Ryan, 5.
"We just wanted to celebrate the holiday season, even with everything going on," Perillo said
If you were hoping to take a ride, but learning that they're all sold out is bringing out the Scrooge in you, there's a glimmer of hope. In the event of unexpected openings and cancellations, organizers have created a waitlist for reservations. To sign up, visit longgrove.org/festivals/holiday-season/.
