McHenry County Red Kettle kickoff tonight in Crystal Lake canceled

Update: The Salvation Army of McHenry County is cancelling the Tree Lighting & Red Kettle Kick-off scheduled for this evening at 5 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce in Crystal Lake.

The Salvation Army of McHenry County is preparing for its annual Red Kettle season by hosting a Christmas Tree Lighting & Red Kettle Kick-off Ceremony, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, 427 W. Virginia St.

 

Each year, The Salvation Army of McHenry County raises funds through its bell ringing program to help county residents in need of a variety of services. Residents can receive help with food, rent, utilities, Christmas toys, school supplies and more.

No RSVP is needed to attend the tree lighting. Masks are required and social distancing will be implemented.

To volunteer to be a bell ringer, register at www.registertoring.com or call (815) 455-2769 for information. Donors can go to salarmycl.org/kettle or send it to the corps offices at 290 West Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake.
