Police say Texas men used blowtorch in Chick-fil-A burglary

Bail was set Friday at $250,000 each for two Texas men charged with burglarizing Chick-fil-A restaurants in Wheaton and Lombard on Wednesday.

Henry Wilson, 25, and Roosevelt Hart, 26, both of Houston, appeared in a bond hearing Friday morning.

Both have been charged with two counts of burglary, a Class 2 felony.

According to a news release from the DuPage County state's attorney's office, Wheaton officers were dispatched to the Chick-fil-A at 301 E. Loop Road at 3:49 a.m. Tuesday. According to the release, they found a shattered window and saw Hart and Wilson inside, trying to break into a safe by using a blowtorch. The release said the duo barricaded themselves in the restaurant for about 10 minutes before surrendering.

Police determined that Hart and Wilson were suspects in a burglary about a half-hour before at the Chick-fil-A at 717 E. Butterfield Road in Lombard.

Hart is due to appear in court Monday, and Wilson is due Oct. 26. Prosecutors are asking their judge, Alex McGimpsey, to prove where any money they post as bond comes from.
