Recycling event Saturday in Vernon Hills

A recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 3, in the parking lot of the former Sears store at Hawthorn Mall, routes 21 and 60, Vernon Hills.

Drivers should stay in their vehicles and items must be in the trunk and labeled "recycle." Volunteers wearing masks and gloves will unload the items.

 

Approved recyclables include CRT monitors, laptops, CD/DVD players cellphones, televisions, printers, computer towers, small appliances, eyeglasses and hearing aids. Items that can be reused and recycled or are new or gently worn also will be accepted.

Visit www.swalco.org for a full list. Paper shredding also will be offered. Limit two boxes per vehicle.
