Listening sessions on diversity in Arlington Heights scheduled

Arlington Heights' diversity consultant has scheduled two virtual community listening sessions as part of an initiative aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of individual perceptions and experiences about inclusivity and belonging in the village.

Residents and business members are invited to register for either session, scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 14 and Oct. 21, at https://seam.ly/Qx5J3vmN. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and each session will be limited to 30 participants.

The events will be facilitated by a member of The Kaleidoscope Group, which was hired by the village board this month to conduct a diversity, equity and inclusion audit and deliver a plan with recommendations.

A third session will be scheduled if needed, depending on community interest. A virtual town hall meeting, which will include representatives of the village and other local governmental agencies, will be scheduled in December.
