COVID-19: 38 new cases in Glenview and 30 in Northbrook

Sixty-eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported the past week in Glenview and Northbrook, but there were no new deaths, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Glenview had 38 cases and Northbrook had 30.

Since the pandemic began, 953 people have testred positive for the virus and 51 people have died in Glenview.

In Northbrook, 569 have tested positive and 42 have died.

Suburban Cook County has had 62,931 cases and 2,237 deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. In Chicago, there have been 77,675 cases and 2,935 fatalities.

More than 8,500 Illinois residents have now died from COVID-19, according to the latest figures from the Illinois Department of Public Health. The grim milestone comes a day after the nation surpassed 200,000 COVID-19 deaths since the outbreak began.
