College of DuPage names new general counsel

The College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn has a new lead lawyer.

COD's board of trustees recently promoted Lilianna Kalin to be the college's general counsel, overseeing all legal matters at the institution. She was hired three years ago as assistant general counsel.

"I've gained crucial experience and built a solid foundation as assistant general counsel for the college over the last three years and I look forward to bringing that experience to this role," Kalin said in a statement.

In addition to dealing with COD's day-to-day legal needs and processes, Kalin said she hopes to bring more attention to the college's legal office.

Before joining the college, Kalin was an assistant Cook County state's attorney. She has also been a labor and employment lawyer for the Cook County Health and Hospital Systems. Kalin earned her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
